Ugunja
Common Hope for Health has a sister organization in Siaya called Ugunja Community Resource Centre (UCRC;
www.ugunja.org); it is an indigenous organization run by Kenyans with two decades of experience in participatory community development. CH4H and UCRC have jointly been carrying out a holistic, grassroots relief and reconciliation effort in Nyanza. Among other things, we are providing direct food and medical relief to displaced families, reaching out to the youth gangs, mobilizing local civic, political, and religious leaders, and conducting vital documentation work (which, of course, is a central purpose of Ushahidi.com).
